Hiking South Mountain

The whole family went hiking at South Mountain. Addison & Delaney's cousin Joe sent us a 'Flat Stanley' as part of his geography project so we decided to take Flat Stanley on a hike so he could learn about the desert. Addison & Delaney did very good on the hike. Addison did a great job climbing rock and looking out for animals. We saw horses, birds, jack rabbits, bugs and even got to see Indian petroglyphs on some of the rocks!

Fun at Rolly Pollies

The girls had a great time at Rolly Pollies for Addison's friend Taylor's birthday. Addison was so excited to see her friends from her old school. The girls had a ball on all the equipment. Addison's favorite was the zip line and landing in the foam pit! Delaney loved the rings and the slide. Everyone sure slept good that night!

I want back in the bath

Our nightly routine is to have the girls take a bath together. After awhile of playing together I take Delaney out of the bath and get her ready for bed and let Addison play in the bath for a little bit by herself. Addison loves to put on her goggles and "dive" under the water and look at things & well our bathtub just isn't big enough for her to do that when Delaney is in there. So one night I got Delaney out of the bath as usual and in her pajamas. She hangs out with Shawn and I for a few minutes and then she goes into the bathroom to see Addison. We can hear them laughing and being silly & then all of a sudden it gets quiet. Addison then yells out to me, "Mooooommmmm, come here but close your eye and don't be mad." I go into the bathroom and there is Delaney back in the bath with her pajamas on. I looked at both girls with my mouth wide open and both girls started cracking up laughing. It was the cutest thing ever. Delaney just wasn't quit done in the bath!!! She wanted to play with Addison a little bit more so she climbed right back in all by herslef...she didn't mind that her pj's were still on until it was time to get out of the water!

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas

Addison's favorite Christmas carol is 'I want a hippopotamus for Christmas' We listened to it every day over and over until she learned the words. Here she is practicing the song without the music...She was so into the Christmas carol spirit this year, she would only listen to Christmas music. It was amazing to me all of the Christmas carols she can sing.

Zoo Lights

The Phoenix Zoo has zoo lights every Dec & Jan. There are so many lights all around the zoo it is so cool to see. The girls enjoyed see all the animal lights. The best part was the dancing light show that was set up to Chirstmas music. We walked around the zoo singing Christmas songs and enjoying the lights at night. Addison & I got to go on a camel ride, too!

Trying out the Christmas toys

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Everyone traveled in from CA (northern & southern), Michigan & Tucson to join us this holiday! We continued our tradition of all the "kids" wearing matching pj's & sprinkling oatmeal on the lawn for the reindeers to enjoy while Santa is inside leaving us goodies! The girls got lots of fun things this year & put them to use right away!!! Check out Raggedy Ann & Andy, according to Addiston, "they are their new brother and sister"

Christmas Caroling

Addison's school put on a Christmas show for the parents. All the 4 & 5 year olds sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer & Jingle Bells. They had been practicing for weeks and did a very good job.

Cold, winter fun at Shamrock Farms

We headed to Shamrock Farms for the winter celebration, "Deck the Herd" We got a tour of the dairy farm & learned how they made milk. We saw so many cows & even some baby cows. After the tour we got to sample some yummy milk, egg nog and ice cream made at the farm. As a special treat they also had Krispy Cream donuts!!! The girls got to make ornaments out of milk cartons & also got a special visit from Santa. They were such good girls because they knew that Santa was watching them...After our visit with Roxie the Cow we headed outside for some fun in the snow!

Silly bathtime fun

Although my sister doesn't remember, I can remember singing this silly song, "inka bink a bottle of ink. The cork fell out and you stink." We would point back and forth at each other and whoever was the last to be pointed at was the one who stank. I can remember laughing when Yvette stank but crying when I stunk...It is cute to see my girls enjoying in this fun just as I did when I was little. Only instead of stinking they enjoy splashing!!!

October Fun

We had a very busy October but celebrated the fall season, even though it didn't feel like fall, by picking out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch then having our friends Jaden and Mason over to carve pumpkins! Addison celebrated Halloween at school dressed as Sleeping Beauty. And bothe girls got to wear their Halloween pajamas to school on Halloween. Of course we went trick or treating with our friends. Addison held strong at being Rudolph as I told her when she asked to be Belle, "that you are a princess everyday. Why don't you be something that you can't be everyday." so she went for Rudolph...the exact thing she said she wanted to be on Nov. 1, 2007. We shall see if she is a Lumpy the elephant next year as that was what she said she wanted to be next year. Delaney was Minnie Mouse and looked sweet as can be!

Happy 4th Birthday Addison

Addison had quite the birthday season! She spent her actualy birthday at the LB aquarium where we got to see all sorts fo fun sea creatures. Then we sent to Sea World and had lunch with Shamu. Addison sure knows a lot about Manatees! Before we reached the exhibit she told us that Manatees don't eat meat & sure enough when we got there they were eating a lunch consisting of lettuce! She got to celebrate at home with a corn bread muffin topped with Addison's favorite...butter! Her friend party was at Bounce U...everyone had a blast there...even the grown ups!

Dancing Delaney

Delaney loves to listen and dance to Farmer Tad's banjo. This afternoon she danced over and over and was having so much fun. She tried to wake up Addison to join in on her fun but sissy was resting up for parents night out tonight!

Summer Fun

The true summer months have passed but the fun memories are still a big topic in our house. We spent so much time in the pool splish splashing about!. Even Delaney finally got into the splashing fun! She is so comfortbale in the water that she LOVED wearing the floaties on ther arms and just floating and kicking about in the pool. The girls thoroughly enjoy being outside...Delaney loves it so much that when we get home she often times run to the back door and cries to go out. Now that the weather has cooled down to below 100' we have ventured to the park and on a big ride to the smoothy shop...

A Blustery Day

A monsoon was on it's way into town and Addison wanted to go out and spin in the wind. She was being so silly...And of course when she is done performing she wants to see herself! It must be nice to see yourself right away. I can remember as a kid that by the time we saw the pictures we took we forgot we even did whatever the picture was of.

Little Laney Lou

Laney is getting to be so big. She loves to walk around with her truck &/or push her sister around. She is also a big climber. She has mastered the stairs, climbs up the stepping stool & even likes to climb into the dishwasher...She sure is a handful, but so much fun!

Breakfast with the Otter

Addison & I went to breakfast with the otter. We got to pet the otters cousin, the ferrat. He sure was stinky. After breakfast we got to go meet the new baby otter, MaKena, and feed her otter pots (fish frozen in ice)

Little Nemo

Addison has become quite a good swimmer. She is taking lessons once a week (her "favorite day") and can now officially swim all by herself without any floaties!

Miss Independent

Delaney gave Independence Day a true meaning when she took her first steps all by herself on July 4th. Her first steps were to her big sister Addison!!!
